Lecturer Background
Dr. Dale Christenson is the President of Project Management Centre of Excellence Inc. Providing project, program, portfolio and change management consulting and training services. Project include Maturity assessments, ERP implementation, PMO development, Business Improvement and Systems projects. A sample of clients include public, private and not for profit sectors within aerospace, mining, forestry, oceanography, technology, ship building, transportation and tourism.
Dr. Dale Christenson holds Doctorate of Project Management in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Masters of Counselling Psychology in Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada, Masters of Criminology in Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada.
Dr. Dale Christenson has 14 peer reviewed journal articles, 2 book chapters and a research dissertation. He was awarded Royal Roads University Extraordinary Teacher Award (2015), Schulich School of Business Teaching Award (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014), Leader of the Year Award finalist, Institute of Public Administration of Canada, etc.
Course Description
This course introduces MBA students to the discipline of project management which has become the managerial approach of choice to add value to most organizations. You will be introduced to an internationally accepted framework for managing projects large and small, local and international, incremental and transformational in nature. The immediate goal of project management is to create a successful project. The long term goal of project management within an organization is to create a mature project management culture that can create predictable and repeated project outcomes.
