On Apr 29, 2016, ACEM received the formal confirmation from AASCB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), stating that the AASCB Continuous Improvement Review Committee has voted to confer the extension of the AASCB Accreditation label upon Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the decision has been ratified by AACSB Board of Directors.

Founded in 1916, AASCB is committed to the improvement of global business administration higher education. Only less than 5% business schools in the world have received AASCB accreditation, which represents top standard in the field of business education. After a series of rigorous review, ACEM received its first AASCB accreditation on Apr 28, 2011. According to the requirements of AACSB, all the schools that have been granted the accreditation should hold on to high-level education management and continuous improvement. It is also requires them to receive peer review every five years.

From Jan 24 to 26, 2016, ACEM received the AACSB re-accreditation panel for a peer review visit. The panel held meetings and discussions with leaders of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, leaders of ACEM, advisory board members, employers, alumni, student and faculty representatives, as well as directors of programs and administration departments during the visit. Meanwhile, the panel conducted a thorough and rigorous examination with regard to the strategy, programs, students, faculty, academic achievements, resource management, engagement, innovation, impact of the college, as well as the re-accreditation supporting materials submitted by ACEM.

The peer review panel gave very positive feedbacks on ACEM’s achievements since it was last accredited after field visits and all-sided communications. They agreed that the college has made significant progress based on the panel’s advice. In particular, the team thought highly of ACEM’s clear strategic plan, continuous recruitment of faculty members with overseas study and teaching experience and its increasingly mature implementation of the Assurance of Learning (AOL) system. Moreover, the panel was also impressed by ACEM’s explicit re-accreditation report and detailed supporting materials.

As the first business school in mainland China to receive all three highest-level accreditations from AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, ACEM adheres consistently to the high standards of world-class business schools and strives persistently to enhance its overall strength. The AACSB re-accreditation proves that ACEM has made great achievements in recent years, and it will also generate unremitting driving force in our pursuit of top global business education.
