On the morning of Jun. 9^th, 2018, the grand inaugural meeting of ACEM MBA Alumni Association was held in the A300 lecture hall of the college. School leaders including Gu Feng (deputy Party secretary of SJTU), Pan Min (deputy director of Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee), Yu Mingyang (Party secretary of ACEM, SJTU), Dong Ming & Tian Xinmin (associate deans of ACEM), Pan Jie (associate dean of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, SJTU) and Yang Guoping (chairman of Dazhong Transportation (Group) Co., Ltd.), together with over 230 alumni association council member candidates and alumni representatives, attended the meeting. The representatives of many peer alumni organizations gave their congratulations on site or by sending a letter, to jointly witness the founding of the ACEM MBA Alumni Association. Huang Shujuan, director of the Alumni and PR Office of ACEM, hosted the inaugural meeting.

After the national anthem, Professor Gu Feng gave a speech. He expressed the congratulations to the founding of ACEM MBA Alumni Association on behalf of the university. He said, SJTU is "born to make the country strong, grows for reform and prospers for talents". 'Born to make the country strong" reflects the philosophy of SJTU on saving and reviving the country with industry over the century; "grows for reform" reflects the rapid development of SJTU over the 40 years by seizing historic opportunities; and "prospers for talents" reflects the core competence of SJTU in development and achieving great results. Gu hoped that ACEM can be run better steadfastly with the important aim of imparting knowledge and educating students consistently, to make greater contribution to the goal of building a world-leading school. He expected that the upgraded alumni association can further play the role of bonding the alma mater with the alumni, integrate resources better, and allow the MBA brand of ACEM to give off stronger vitality and broader influence.

Professor Yu Mingyang introduced the impressive achievements of the college and the MBA project in recent years. Yu expressed his sincere congratulations to the founding of the MBA Alumni Association. He hoped that students should cherish the honor of ACEM’s MBA program and the ACEM brand. Yu also emphasized the keywords "positivity" and "flexibility". With "positivity", he hoped that the alumni association council members could have a broader mind and build the Association into an organization full of positive energy; with "flexibility", he hoped that the alumni association could keep on carrying out multiple quality activities to attract and encourage every schoolmate to take an active part.

The review video on preparation of the MBA Alumni Association reminded the audience of the glorious history of MBA schoolmate association over the past two decades. The past flashed back. The successive old photos brought the schoolmates back to the past days in school and played back the situation of various activities. 　

In the meeting, Chen Hu, an alumnus and the office director of the Preparatory Committee of ACEM MBA Alumni Association, introduced the status of preparation of the Association. Chen said, to build a top-class business school, a top-class alumni association is essential. With the feeling of "loving the country, honoring the school and being grateful", at the historic moment of the 100th anniversary of ACEM, and with the support and promotion from the college, the MBA program and the council of the former MBA schoolmate association, breakthrough is achieved and the MBA schoolmate association is upgraded to ACEM MBA Alumni Association, to expand the alumni service platform and strengthen the bonding between the alumni and alma mater more deeply. He reported the personnel structure and rules of procedure of the Preparatory Committee, and introduced the strategic objective, key draft articles of association and organizational structure of the alumni association in detail. The former council members of SJTU MBA Schoolmate Association are shifted to council members of the new alumni association, with new members added, from 100 to 200. A standing council is set up and outstanding schoolmates, peer alumni organizations and public figures are invited to act as special advisers to the advisory committee of alumni association, to guide the development of ACEM MBA Alumni Association. In the meeting, Chen also read out the Articles of Association of SJTU ACEM MBA Alumni Association (draft), which was passed by all council members with applause.

ACEM associate dean Professor Tian Xinmin read out the Approval for Founding SJTU ACEM MBA Alumni Association, marking the official founding of the Association.

ACEM associate dean Professor Dong Ming read out the list of candidates for the first council of SJTU ACEM MBA Alumni Association, which was passed by all council members with applause. Yang Guoping is appointed as the chairman of the first council; Cao Tongyu, Cheng Jinglei, Hua Ming, Xie Dong, Lu Shen, Zhang Hailiang, Cheng Feng, Gan Pin, Luo Xueping, Xin Lei, Zhou Guolai and Chen Hu are appointed as the vice chairmen; and 47 standing committee members and 139 council members are appointed.

Yang Guoping read out the list of members of the advisory committee of ACEM MBA Alumni Association, with the following special advisers: Pan Min (deputy director of Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee), Zhou Lin (dean of ACEM), Yu Mingyang (Party secretary of ACEM), Wang Fanghua (former dean of ACEM), Dong Ming (associate dean of ACEM), Tian Xinmin (associate dean of ACEM), Pan Jie (associate dean of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, SJTU), Zhang Xin’an (director of MBA Program, ACEM), Wang Xiaowei (director of MBA Center, ACEM), Huang Shujuan (director of Alumni and PR Office), Li Zhiwei (deputy director of Research Office, Shanghai Municipal Government) and Xu Jianping (president of Alumni Industrial Investment Club, SJTU). The advisers went up onto the stage to accept the letters of appointment. Yang Guoping, Dong Ming and Tian Xinmin jointly launched the opening ceremony of SJTU ACEM MBA Alumni Association. With the linkage of QR codes on the big screen, the WeChat profile pictures and photos of the members of the first council kept on gathering and forming the words "交大安泰MBA校友会", and the warm applause pushed the meeting to a new high.

Ms. Li Xia, the vice president & council chairman of SJTU Alumni Industrial Investment Club and the chairman of Yuanbo Education Group, expressed warm congratulations to the founding of ACEM MBA Alumni Association on behalf of peer alumni organizations. Li Xia said, SJTU MBA Schoolmate Association, the predecessor of ACEM MBA Alumni Association, has made excellent achievements over the years and is the pioneer of the alumni organizations of SJTU, playing the role of demonstration and leading for founding and development of other alumni organizations. Combined with the philosophy of alumni association mentioned by Chen Hu, namely "association of friendship, ambition and business", it is expected that the alumni organizations can have more communication and cooperation, to jointly develop and make contribution to the development of the alma mater and ACEM.

Yang Guoping, the chairman of ACEM MBA Alumni Association & chairman of Dazhong Transportation (Group) Co., Ltd., recalled the situation when the original MBA Schoolmate Association was founded in the acknowledgement. At that time, all conditions were simple and crude, but all members were full of passion. After inheritance year by year, the association is still full of energy over twenty years of development. Yang also looked into the future development of the upgraded alumni association. He said, the alumni association is not only a bigger platform for more communication of the alumni, but also a stage for demonstration of more alumni; and it is also a link of communication between the university, the college and the alumni, calling on all council members to win glory for the university and the college.

After the inaugural meeting, the first meeting of the standing council of the first council was held. Vice chairman Chen Hu moderated the meeting. Two standing council members Jiang Yuewei and Peng Yuejing were appointed the secretary general and financial controller of the first council of ACEM MBA Alumni Association respectively. In the meeting, the Council Fee Standard of MBA Alumni Association of ACEM, SJTU (draft), the Detailed Rules for Work of the Council of MBA Alumni Association of ACEM, SJTU (draft) and the Measures for Application for Council Member of MBA Alumni Association of ACEM, SJTU (draft) were discussed and passed. Chen Hu also reported the key work schedule of the MBA Alumni Association in 2018.

With the philosophy of "Learn for life, be grateful, grow with the times and lead the future", the inaugural meeting of ACEM MBA Alumni Association, the first meeting of the first council and the first meeting of the first standing council were successfully closed.

The strategic objectives of ACEM MBA Alumni Association include: one platform, namely the platform for lifelong learning with interaction among production, learning and research; one hub, namely the hub for communication of knowledge and capital between the alma mater and the alumni; and one brand, namely the brand for matching and demonstrating the innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership in times by ACEM’s MBA program. In the future, the alumni association will implement the "Three-Star Initiative": Fixed Star, to create a global business school alumni innovation & entrepreneurship summit meeting as the core brand event of the alumni association; Planet, to build special committees oriented by various industries and integrate superior resources based on the core brand event; Satellite, to found various featured clubs to carry out activities, while whole brand licensing is not advisable. The founding of ACEM MBA Alumni Association is a milestone and a significant move of the MBA Center to keep on strengthening alumni work, further strengthen the connection between the alumni and the alma mater and promote the joint development of the alumni and the alma mater. The alumni association will become an important bridge connecting the alumni with the alma mater. Also, by concentrating the resources of alumni, it will help the career development of alumni, promote the brand influence of ACEM, SJTU, and make contribution to the construction of the alma mater.
