From September 19 to 21, Associate Prof. Xi Junfang, Chief Representative of Asia-Pacific Center of ACEM, SJTU, was invited to participate in the "HUAWEI CONNECT 2022" conference held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok. With the theme of "Unleashing Digital," this year's HUAWEI CONNECT brought together more than 8,000 participants to discuss how digital technologies, such as ICT, cloud, AI and 5G can be applied in different industries to effectively unlock their values.

At the event, participants discussed the digital transformation of the education industry, the focus of the conference -- "Accelerating the Digital Journey of Education." Professors and experts shared their views on the importance of digitizing education. Huawei proposed to leverage their full-scenario education solutions, which aim to accelerate digital transformation through the use of innovative teaching methods, inclusive educational resources, and improved management, education and research resources and capabilities.

Prof. Xi also visited the X Huawei Global Education Demonstration Site at Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand, which demonstrated SWU's success in transforming smart education. The project has adopted Huawei's campus network solution to provide comprehensive Wi-Fi 6 technological coverage, wireless access and free movement "anytime and anywhere" for the campus, along with secure, efficient and energy-efficient data centers, storage and cloud. This collaborative initiative aims to make Srinakharinwirot University an "innovative university" and set a benchmark for digital transformation for universities across the region. The smart classroom demonstrated by the project has the potential to provide students at the SJTU Asia-Pacific Center in Singapore with an immersive learning experience with classmates and professors on Shanghai campus in the future.
