Commercial Bank Association
This club has established a sophisticated organization focused on the field of commercial banking, and has developed a wide-range of networking contacts within the banking industry. The association has invited Professor Hu Haiou, a senior consultant with the Chinese Monetary Policy Committee, to be its honorary advisor. The association focuses on research regarding the overall operations and management of commercial banks, and maintains a database of Chinese and multinational commercial banks. The association also provides professional career advice in the banking field.
Toastmasters Club
A speaking and presentation club where participants meet together and practice making both prepared and unprepared speeches in front of an audience. This practice improves participants’ English communication and speech-giving skills.
S.M.A.R.T Club (Strategically Managing and Analyzing Resources Together)
This club provides valuable experiences, ideas, and opportunities for its members through visiting different companies and studying their line of business. Through company visits and meetings with corporate executives, members expand their industry knowledge, learn about relevant issues, and enhance their analytical skills. The club also provides networking opportunities with managers in various industries.
Sporting Events
A badminton tournament is hled at the beginning of each new semester. Through friendly competition, new students get to know one another and also their future teachers. During the games, students not only relax physically and mentally, but also develop a strong spirit of cooperation.
The MBA “Sunshine Cup” is held every year in Shanghai. All business schools with MBA program in Shanghai participate at this SJTU-initiated event, which consists of football, basketball, badminton, ping pong, tug of war and darts competitions over the course of two successive weekends.
Social Events
A new student cocktail party is held to create social relationships between the various MBA programs, allowing students the opportunity to get know one another outside of the classroom setting. At the end of each year, all students are invited to a New Year’s Eve party, where students can relax and socialize. In addition, ACEM often hosts lunch and dinner parties with IMBA visiting professors and students from foreign countries.
Antai Forum
ACEM’s weekly MBA Forum serves as a vivid second classroom for MBA students and alumni by promoting forward-looking business management thinking and also providing students with the opportunity to expand their social networks. Since 1998, the Antai Forum has held weekly activities, hosting nearly 700 sessions with over 200,000 attendees. This forum not only connects students and alumni, but also attracts a number of external business managers. It has been highly praised and recognized throughout Chinese academic and business circles for the numerous benefits participants enjoy. Many renowned entrepreneurs, distinguished public figures and senior government officials have delivered speeches through our forums, reaching a broad audience. Extensive in reach, these forum-based activities offer knowledge and skills supplementary to classroom learning. This forum is a remarkable embodiment of our MBA brand and culture, namely-openness and interconnected learning-thus, becoming an indispensable component of our MBA program.
Entrepreneurship Competition
Over the past ten years, Antai has organized the Huawei Cup Entrepreneurship Competition, which has become an important event for business colleges all over China.In 2009,Antaiinvited other top international business colleges such as CEIBS and Taiwan Jiao Tong University. The Huawei Cup cultivates entrepreneurial skills and teamwork, preparing students for careers in business as entrepreneurs.Each year, successful entrepreneurs, venture capital executives, and government leaders are invited as special guest speakers.
Giving Back to the Community
Antai’s spirit of volunteerism and strong sense of social responsibility can be seen through its donationsfor disaster relief, helping children with intellectual disabilities and vulnerable groups, hosting public lectures, supporting education in remote areas, and actively cooperating with the university to carry out various other types of project that benefit society.
