About Shanghai
Located in the heart of Shanghai, the sparkling “Pearl of the Orient,” SJTU benefits from the diversity found in China's largest, most spectacular “megacity.” Shanghai, with its population of over 20 million inhabitants, is China's vibrant center of business and commerce, with some of the largest concentrations of skyscrapers in the world. Antai College of Economics and Management provides students with an exciting environment full of opportunity to learn both inside and outside of the classroom. Shanghai is a fascinating Chinese metropolis offering endless possibilities for sight-seeing and leisure. The city boasts architecture from various eras and dynasties throughout China’s history, and one can commonly view historical buildings and temples alongside modern high rises. This contrast is evident from the banks of the Huangpu River, which has become reputed as “the International Fair of World Architecture”. Shanghai is also known for its local Shanghai cuisine, as well its variety of Chinese and international restaurants. Living costs in Shanghai are very reasonable compared to most Western cities, and one needs to budget only a moderate amount for eating, transportation, and other basic living expenses.

Antai Campus
Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University is located in Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Shanghai Jiao Tong University Xu Hui Campus grounds are set in a park-like landscape with a plethora of mature flowering trees, flowering shrubs and verdant lawns, befitting one of the oldest and most respected Chinese universities.
Classrooms
The Antai campus provides 56 state-of-the-art classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with a projector and a wireless microphone. 25 of the classrooms are equipped with the most advanced multimedia equipment, including video projectors, computers, recorders, and microphones. Teachers can post lectures on the Internet for students to download. Each seat is equipped with a microphone for interactive class discussion between the students and teacher. Two distance education classrooms are equipped with advanced voice tracking cameras and two computer projectors and multimedia equipment. Each classroom and office can connect to the school’s LAN. There are also 7 discussion rooms for the teachers and students in break-out sessions and class projects.
Library
The library is located on the third and fourth floor of the Antai Building, and contains over 50,000 books, 3000+ graduate theses, and subscriptions to 87 international journals and 475 Chinese journals. There are 100 computers in the College’s library, and the library shares the same database with the main library of the university. In addition, all students and teachers can visit the Antai College website to search for books and materials. Three computer centers are available to students for internet use and printing.
Recreation
The Antai campus offers a recreation center for badminton, table tennis, billiards, and a basketball court.
Cafeteria
The Antai campus cafeteria is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Breakfast is served on the 1st floor of the Fa Hua Zhen Road campus canteen from 7:00-9:00 am. Offerings include: bread, cakes, porridge, soy milk, eggs, and steamed buns. Lunch and dinner are served on both the 1st and 2nd floors of the cafeteria. Lunch is from 11:00-13:00, and dinner from 17:00-18:30. Offerings include: RMB 6-8 combination meals, which can be purchased via cash or meal tickets. Meal tickets can be purchased at the 1st floor entrance.
Off-Campus Dining
There is a variety of restaurant, cafe, and nightlife options near campus, on Xin Hua Road, Ding Xi Road, Fa Hua Zhen Road, and in the Xujiahui area. Finding a restaurant with your favorite kind of food is not difficult in Shanghai. In the area surrounding the schools there are many restaurants and cafes, both Western and Chinese style. Several Western-style bars are also located next to campus, as are a number of convenience stores and grocery stores.
Transportation
Antai is situated near the large Xujiahui commercial center in downtown Shanghai, near subway lines 1, 3, 4,and 10. Taxis are plentiful, and start at 14 RMB. Buses are also convenient.
Antai Activities
Antai sponsors a variety of academic and extra-curricular events for students, including MBA forums, guest lectures, orientation and social events, cultural trips, holiday activities, and sporting events, which help international students and Chinese students to connect outside of the classroom. Antai provides Chinese classes to our students free of charge every week for three hours. International students are also encouraged to participate in or lead student clubs.
On Campus Dormitories
Single Room
RMB¥70/day, short-term study: RMB ¥120/day. Each room is equipped with bath, color TV, telephone, air-conditioner and internet connection. Additional facilities include kitchen, fridge and washing-machine for public use.
